This refresher course by LW Aesthetics Academy is for practitioners who have already completed foundation-level botulinum toxin training. It’s ideal for those who want to refresh their knowledge, improve their technique, or regain confidence after a break in practice.
It's also suitable for those who haven’t been treating patients regularly and feel they need a boost. Training standards can vary a lot between providers, so while we assume some basic knowledge, this course is designed to fill in any gaps and help refine your skills if you trained elsewhere.
The course focuses on two key areas:
Consultation Mastery: We will dive deep into the consultation process, providing staged, hands-on sessions to improve your communication and assessment skills.
Treatment Strategies: Emphasis will be placed on mastering the three main areas treated with toxin, as well as exploring some "off-label" indications.

We start with a focused review of the fundamentals—facial anatomy, patient evaluation, facial mapping, accurate dosage calculations, and reconstitution technique. This ensures a solid foundation for all delegates as you progress through the day. If you haven’ trained with us on the foundation level course, we will provide pre-course reading to help you become familiar with the terminology and anatomy ahead of your training day.

Master the art of the aesthetic consultation. Through interactive and practical exercises, you’ll refine how you assess patients, structure conversations, and educate them on realistic outcomes. Topics include patient education, obtaining informed consent, comprehensive documentation including taking standardised pre and post treatment images. This will help ensure good medicolegal and ethical practice.

This practical session makes up the core of the training day. Under expert supervision, you’ll carry out full treatment procedures on live models. The aim is to build confidence and fluency with real-world application—at your pace, with as much guidance as needed.

Beyond the standard three areas, botulinum toxin can be used in a variety of off-label facial and neck treatments. We will introduce to you these indications as you start to broaden your treatment portfolio.

As with the Foundation level course, we show you how to identify and differentiate between normal post-treatment responses that require tweaks and those that are true complications. We’ll guide you through effective management strategies, patient communication, and safety protocols. Dependent on the rota of patients, there may be opportunity to assess those patients that require ‘tweaks’ or touch ups at review as well.

Pretty much all training providers stipulate a no refund policy once a place has been allocated. We believe this is unfair so we will provide a no quibble 50% refund from the course cost up to the day before your booking.
